Owner Claimed ‘She Didn’t Notice’ Shepherd Starving To Death

Is this for real? We're pretty sure she isn't blind to not notice this poor baby?

While dog lovers across the UK were commemorating National Dog Day a couple of weeks ago, Sara Loche, 37, ended up facing charges of animal neglect and failure to investigate why her dog had been losing weight.

Loche was a no-show throughout the hearing, but she was charged in her absence at Grimsby Magistrates’ Court. Loche will be facing a ban on owning pets in the future, and a warrant was released for her arrest.

Just one glance at the dog she made to suffer, and you will totally agree that this woman shouldn’t be permitted to own any pets. Queenie, the German Shepherd, was just 16.5 pounds when she was discovered (not even half of what her weight should have been).

Queenie had been residing at the home of Sara and Richard Loche. Richard, 46, has a record of animal neglect and was serving a ten-year ban on pet ownership, as well as a year of community service.

RSPCA inspector Stuart Wainright said he had previously come across deceased dogs in much better condition than Queenie. She was hurried to the veterinarian, but was humanely euthanized to end her suffering. During her hearing, Loche explained that she hadn’t realized that the dog was starving to death.

Loche even stated that she was feeding the dog a number of meals every day and that Queenie’s weight would naturally go up and down.

Wainwright said that he hadn’t witnessed a dog in such a pitiful condition before. A necropsy found that there was no further reason for Queenie’s death: she was simply purposely starved.

Another report suggests that the couple owns another dog, who is healthy. The dog can’t be taken away from them without a court order.

Rest in peace, Queenie.

Please don’t forget to share Queenie’s story.
