It’s a Rags to Riches happy ending for Guy the Beagle. The Duchess of Sussex, Megan Markle, adopted the dog when she lived in Toronto, where she was an actress starring in the drama, Suits. This novel children’s dog book, entitled “His Royal Dogness, Guy the Beagle” is planned to be released into bookstores on 20 November this year.
The Rescue Dog’s Adoption Story
The abandoned beagle, after being discovered wandering in woods in 2015, was placed in an animal shelter in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. He was transferred to A Dog’s Dream Rescue centre in Ontario. Caring rescuers drove him over 500 miles there, taking turns to drive the vehicle. Consequently, he was to be placed up for adoption. Certainly, he was just days from being put down, when Megan Markle discovered this lucky pup on a Pet finder website.
Thinking that a beagle, known for being a gentle and energetic breed would be well suited to her, she emailed the rescue centre. At their request, she filled in an application form online. As a result, Megan was allowed to adopt Guy, and they formed an adoring bond with each other.
Starring role in the Dog Book
Shortly after her move to England, Megan Markle brought her beloved dog to live in Kensington Palace. He loves being a royal dog, living alongside Megan and Prince Harry. The regal beagle, was actually spotted by the Paparazzi sitting majestically beside Queen Elizabeth, on their way to Megan’s wedding rehearsal. Due to his “pawper to proper” life changes, the lucky dog is having a light-hearted children’s book written about him.
His Royal Dogness
Due to be released on 20 November, the dog book is titled “His Royal Dogness, Guy the Beagle: The Remarkable True Story of Meghan Markle’s Rescue Dog”. Written by authors Michael Brumm and Camille March, with fabulous pictures by EG Keller. This humorous dog book is probably going to be a top seller. Certainly, with a follow up planned for release in January 2019, “The Duchess and Guy: A Rescue-to-Royalty Puppy Love Story” means that Megan’s beagle, Guy will be Top Dog at Kensington Palace!
