As soon as they saw her, the little dog left them utterly devastated.
She had no fur, and her skin was red, wrinkled, and severely inflamed.
A severe case of mange
The little one-year-old female weighed only 8 pounds. She was severely malnourished and suffering from mange. The rescue team named her Talulah. The poor dog was itchy all over her body; she was in a great deal of pain and could barely stand on her feet.
The shelter team said it was the worst case of mange they had ever seen. Fortunately, they knew just how to help her. They found a specialist foster family who could provide an intensive care plan. There, she received medicated baths, soothing foam applications for her skin, antibiotics to fight the infection, and painkillers to ease her discomfort.
A remarkable recovery
After just one week of care, Talulah's fur began to grow back. It turned out she had a beautiful black coat! Within two weeks, her wrinkled skin had become smooth, which brought her immense relief.
Talulah recovered in record time. In just three weeks, her beautiful coat had completely grown back. Her transformation was astonishing. And the good news didn't stop there: two months after her rescue, the little dog was adopted! She has joined her forever family and is now called Wednesday. We wish her all the best with her family in her new home!
