No one knows his exact age. He was living in a rescue centre and was starting to show signs of weakness.
The senior Chihuahua now suffers from arthritis and dementia.
His final weekend
When Sarah and her partner learned that the senior dog was set to spend his final weekend at the rescue centre, they decided to open up their home to him so he could be more comfortable.
Sarah was very surprised to see just how poor Rodney's condition was. He had major problems with his eyesight and teeth, and the many white hairs scattered through his coat were a testament to his advanced age.
A wonderful surprise!
Rodney had clearly lived in a home before, as he settled into indoor life immediately and got on very well with the couple's other pets. But what Sarah thought would be Rodney's final weekend, given his poor health, didn't go as planned!
Rodney's condition improved, and the little dog came out of his shell, regaining his energy and enjoying his loving home. It has now been two months since Rodney came to live with Sarah, and the couple has officially adopted him! Rodney enjoys walks with his canine brother and loves sniffing everything he finds along the way. We are so happy that Rodney has found a new lease of life with Sarah and her whole family!
