A new pupil at the back of the class
On 29th September, Sangita Sharma, an English teacher in India, walked into her classroom and noticed a small white dog sitting at a desk near the back. "I was pleasantly surprised," she told The Dodo, having never seen anything quite like it.
The dog, named Scampy, had followed his owner, Angel, to school and sat down right beside her. The teacher let him stay, to the delight of the pupils. Writing on Facebook, she described him as the best-behaved student in the class, calling him a "10/10 student for any teacher."
A regular visitor
At the end of the day, Scampy headed home with Angel, and the video of his time in class quickly went viral. A week later, he returned and sat in the exact same spot. This time, Mrs Sharma filmed him and even gave him a school bag. She assured everyone that he is welcome whenever he wishes.
In class, Scampy is calm and deeply attached to his owner. At home, however, it is a different story. From what Mrs Sharma has heard, he is rather feisty and barks at anyone passing by his house. But that is strictly between Scampy and his neighbours.
