In South Carolina, 8 years ago, a tiny puppy was tossed out of a passenger truck.
An incredible rescue
Animal control officers found this little pup wandering off of the road after witnesses spotted her getting thrown out of a truck, as if she was trash. That’s when Heidi Schermerhorn-Wagner got involved.
Heidi, founder of Boxer Butts & Other Mutts, found the dog’s photo and planned to pick her up on the same day. However, there was a five-day stray hold on the poor pup, even though she had been so inhumanely abandoned.
Little Callie went from being undesirable to adored in an instant. However, the organisation’s vet said that she had the most severe case of mange he’d ever seen. With serious wounds and a serious skin infection, it would take quite a while before she could start living a normal doggy life.
A complete transformation
At the beginning, Callie would just go lie down, but after continuous medical treatment, she started to run and play like any other puppy her age. Soon, she was adopted into a loving family.
A few months ago, the animal rescue shared update photos of Callie in her forever home, and you have to see it to believe it. She looks like a completely different dog! Now that is what we call a glow-up!
