Berry recently posted a series of topless photos, donning a superhero mask and accompanied by two black cats that she adopted after they wandered into her yard.
The celebration pays homage to her role as Patience Phillips, aka Catwoman, a character that remains close to her heart.
Celebrating with cats
In her Instagram post, Berry captioned the photos with, “And STILL...meow! It’s been 20 years today since I had the honour of bringing this iconic character to life. She will always be close to my heart and I will forever be Patience Phillips aka CATWOMAN!”
She also expressed gratitude to a friend who assisted with the cats: “Thank you @missjee79! When these black beauties showed up in my yard searching for their mother, Jee helped us through the rescue process. Forever grateful! ♥️”
Reflecting on Catwoman’s legacy
Berry spoke to Entertainment Weekly about her enduring connection to Catwoman, stating, “I became a cat lover because of it. I just rescued four kitties I found in my yard three weeks ago. I’m a Catwoman through and through because of that experience and those relationships. That experience changed me.”
Despite the movie’s poor box office performance, Berry has carried the experience with her. And the fact that it encouraged her to adopt makes us love the movie even more!
