After spending years on the streets living as a stray, a large black tomcat decided he was ready for a comfortable life while waiting for a new family.
The cat was reported to have been found by a woman at the back of her garden. Intrigued by the unfamiliar visitor, she approached him and was surprised to find he was incredibly friendly.
Cat felt right at home
Unwilling to leave him outside, she took him in while searching for his owner. However, after a month with no one coming forward, she realised he had no home to return to. Wanting to give him a chance at a better life, she contacted the charity Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions for help.
Volunteer Ellen welcomed the cat into her home, and he settled in almost immediately.
"I've never met an adult cat who wanted to snuggle in my arms and give me a hug after just one meeting," she said.
Ready for a fresh start
Kodiak, as he was named, quickly discovered a love for comfort, particularly the sofa. Most of the time, he could be found relaxing in his cosy nest, eagerly seeking head rubs.
After years of wandering the streets, Kodiak is now ready to find a loving forever home, ideally with a sofa of his own.
