Already the proud owners of Whist, they visited the Lewis County Humane Society in New York to adopt. There, they met Fifi, a sweet kitten just a few months old.
She quickly won their hearts and was soon settling into her new home.
An unexpected twist
At first, Whist and Fifi had very different personalities, but a tentative bond began to form. With time, the couple believed they would become close companions.
Just days later, the shelter contacted them with surprising news: Fifi had arrived with her mother, who had since been adopted but was now returned. Her name was Fiona, and she was back at the shelter.
The couple agreed to foster Fiona temporarily to see how she fit in with the household.
A heartwarming reunion
Fifi and Fiona’s reunion was calm at first, but their bond quickly became clear. The two cats showed a natural connection that deeply moved their adopters.
Within days, it became clear Fiona belonged with them too. The couple decided to make her stay permanent.
