Chris and Mariesa love dogs.
Seven years ago their dog house was already home to 12 adorable canines, each with their own personality.
One extra rescue dog
But 12 dogs could never be enough for the couple who decided to go out of their way to rescue a 13th. They visited Pibbles and More animal shelter in Binghamton to seek out the luckiest dog yet.
It did not take them long to find Storie, a Staffy with a heart of gold which they decided to make theirs. Chris and Mariesa were told of Storie’s pregnancy but nevertheless knew they could give the dog the love and attention she needed throughout her labour.
Besides, shelter staff said she was ready for labour, but she seemed to be holding on until she could find a warm, loving home first.
A shock to the system
Just 18 hours after arriving at her new forever home, Storie gave birth to 12 puppies, all of them healthy and fighting fit. But to add this many dogs to their burgeoning collection would, even for the dog-loving couple, have been a step too far. So each puppy was rehomed.
Storie and her new brothers and sisters continue to bring Chris and Mariesa oodles of love.
