At the start of July, good Samaritans in Fondi city centre (Italy) made a call to the police when they found a box filled with abandoned puppies.

The box had been partially sealed and left in 30°C heat for an unknown amount of time.

Luckily, the police didn’t waste any time. They quickly showed up on the scene and rescued the puppies.

A quick response

They were immediately taken to the station, where they were able to cool down with some much-needed water and food. Though they were terrified at first, they soon realised that these people were here to help. And with a little TLC, they began to show their adorable puppy energy!

A happy end

There were four pups in total. Two were black, and two were black and tan. They seemed to be some sort of German Shepherd cross. Whatever they really were, one thing’s for sure: they were very cute.

So within a couple of days, they had all found their forever homes! One of them was even adopted by one of the police officers who had rescued them. A lovely end to these beautiful pups who very nearly escaped a much different fate.
