Logan's dad battled blood cancer for nine years. He passed away on 8th January 2020, leaving behind his wife and two sons.
But that didn't stop him from making one of his son's greatest dreams come true a week later, on his 13th birthday.
His childhood dream
In the final days of his life, he asked his wife Melanie to give Logan a puppy.
He was certain the little dog would bring him great comfort after his death.
Logan had always wanted a dog, but because his dad was allergic, they couldn't have one at home.
At 3 years old, he was given a toy Boston Terrier which he called Puppers and carried everywhere with him for years.
Joe thought it was the right time for him to have his own Boston Terrier. And he wasn't wrong!
Overwhelmed by the surprise
It was his cousin Jon who handed him the little dog, saying:
"This is from your father. He's your dog."
Logan couldn't believe his eyes or ears. The emotion was overwhelming for him to hold in his arms the dog he'd dreamt of his entire life!
The family named the little dog Indy.
Brave Indy brings great comfort and joy to the whole family.
