Well, to be precise, he didn't film the moment he proposed to his future wife, Ila, but to the other special someone who also shares his life.
A proposal with a twist
This other special someone is named Daisy, and she's his fiancée's dog. For Matt, it was obvious that proposing to Ila went hand in hand with proposing to Daisy too. In the video below, you can see this unique moment unfold. However, things didn't quite go as Matt had imagined.
Matt had prepared a box with a plush engagement ring for Daisy. The moment he got down on one knee to propose, Daisy rushed over to sniff the contents of the box. But instead of offering her paw to accept the proposal, the little dog immediately turned and walked away...
A hilarious rejection?
You can see Matt reaching out in despair, as if trying to win Daisy back despite her 'rejection'... This was definitely not part of the plan! And it's fair to say this plot twist has amused more than 2.4 million people on Instagram.
Fortunately, at the end of the video, Matt proposes to Daisy again, but this time on the sofa, making it easier for the little dog to slip the ring onto her paw. What an absolutely adorable scene!
