In Taiwan, artist Liang Renchuan regularly visits beaches to collect driftwood. These materials serve him in creating works of art, as reported by The Dodo.
Each time the artist walks along the beaches, he takes Hachiko with him. The dog had been inseparable from his owner since the death of his father.
Driftwood to bring you back
On the day of the funeral, Liang came across this stray dog. Like a sign of life, the artist decided to adopt Hachiko.
Sadly, the dog died suddenly in his human's studio after a wonderful and happy life. To honour the memory of his faithful companion, Liang decided to craft a statue from driftwood.
"Before, we used to go to the beach together to collect driftwood. Now, I can only use driftwood to bring you back," he said.
