Happy retirement

After retiring at the age of 12, Jimmy lived out his final years surrounded by love and care, staying with his devoted handler and their family. He died peacefully this week at the age of 14.

Merseyside Police praised Jimmy as “loyal, brave and a credit to the team,” while members of the public shared their sadness online.

RIP Jimmy

One tribute read: “Thank you wonderful Jimmy for your service. Thank you to the handler and family for looking after him. It’s heartbreaking when they pass.” Another added: “Thank you for your service Jimmy and helping to keep our city safe. Thoughts to his family too.”

Jimmy will be remembered not only as a dedicated police dog but also as a cherished companion.
