Jimmy, a black Labrador, joined the force in 2014 and quickly proved himself as an outstanding drugs, cash and firearms recovery dog.
Throughout his career, he helped take dangerous items off the streets and played a vital role in supporting operations across the region.
Happy retirement
After retiring at the age of 12, Jimmy lived out his final years surrounded by love and care, staying with his devoted handler and their family. He died peacefully this week at the age of 14.
Merseyside Police praised Jimmy as “loyal, brave and a credit to the team,” while members of the public shared their sadness online.
