This little creature was nestled in a field by the roadside.
He quickly realised it was a dog and took a photo to post on Facebook. He asked for help for the poor pooch, who was in need and in danger so close to the road.
An emergency rescue
When Sonia Antonela Costas, the director of Sonia's Safe Animal Haven rescue, saw the post online, she knew she had to act. She quickly drove to the location. Pulling over to the side of the road, Sonia spotted the dog standing in the field.
The dog, later named Fox, immediately ran towards Sonia and showered her with affection. Sonia was very moved. She cradled Fox in her arms and assured him that everything was going to be alright now; he was safe with her.
Covered in ticks
The rescuer took him back to the shelter and removed the many ticks from his coat. The next day, she took Fox to the vet, who made sure he was in good health and that his vaccinations were up to date. Finally safe, Fox began to relax into his new life. He met the other dogs at the rescue and quickly made friends with all of them.
According to Sonia, Fox is the happiest dog at the rescue. She believes he is now ready to meet his forever family. The sweet dog would love to live in a home with active people, ready to join him on his adventures. We hope he finds his loving home very soon!
