A small dog bursting with love

The Yorkshire Terrier mix might not be the biggest dog in the world, but she showed how she's full of love after rescuing a kitten in distress. Hazel stumbled across the stray during a toilet break, and there was no way she was going to leave the furball out in the rain.

Monica managed to film the adorable rescue. Footage shows Hazel trotting up the street, followed by the kitten.

The stray looks less than a few weeks old and struggles to keep up with her hero. But that's no problem for Hazel. She keeps checking back and then waits for her little friend to catch up. She even gives it a few encouraging little nudges along the way. Hazel then looks into the camera, as if to say, 'Look what I found, Mum!'

But then things get even cuter. As they're entering the house, the kitten is too small and weak to climb the doorstep. So Hazel leans down, picks her up, and carries the stray to safety.

And rather than calling animal services, Monica knew the perfect place for the new arrival.

New home, new life, and a forever best friend

Monica's brother, Michael, is a confirmed cat lover and so he jumped at the chance to give the kitten a forever home.

Little 'Sheba' is loving life with her cat-dad, and she still gets plenty of visits from her rescuer and best friend in the world!

Hero dogs come in all shapes and sizes, and Hazel might be the tiniest one yet! But that doesn't matter, Hazel's small act of kindness changed one cat's life forever, and it certainly brightened up our day!
