After only having it a week, a family in Germany took their puppy to the shelter when they realised that the dog was too much for them to handle.
Labrador puppy is something very different
The family assured shelter staff that the puppy came from a Labrador breeder. Yet, as days went by and the puppy started to grow, shelter staff realised that the Lab in question had a little secret.
Indeed, the pup, named Klausi, was not a Labrador at all. He was a Kangal dog!
Also known as Anatolian Shepherds, Kangals are large dogs who need a firm hand. No doubt Klausi’s previous owners realised this and decided they’d bitten off more than they could chew.
Anatolian Shepherd loves his new life
Beware of backyard breeders and puppy farmers! They’re ready to tell you everything you want to hear just so they can sell you their puppies – who often suffer from a panoply of health issues. Hearing Klausi’s previous family wanted a Lab puppy; this breeder clearly didn’t hesitate to tell them that this Kangal pup he was selling them was indeed a Lab.
Not to worry, though, since then, Klausi has joined a new family, and he couldn’t be happier. He lives on a farm with lots of other rescue dogs and cats, as well as chickens that he loves to watch!
Enjoy, Klausi!
