Tucked away in the bushes of the open-air shopping centre, a little black and white dog was living all alone, hidden from view.
The little chap was so discreet that he blended in completely with his surroundings. You could have easily walked right past without ever knowing a poor little soul was hiding inside.
A very frightened dog
Several passers-by tried to help him, but the little dog was so fearful that he would run off as soon as anyone tried to get close. He would then return later, once he was sure no one was waiting for him near his bush.
After three weeks of unsuccessful attempts to catch him, a member of the public contacted Suzette Hall for help. Of course, when the rescuer arrived on the scene, the little dog, now named Kingsley, bolted...
A new strategy
So, Suzette pulled out all the stops. She placed some tempting food inside a humane trap and went to hide. Now, it was just a waiting game! Kingsley returned to the bushes a few moments later... His hunger led him straight into the rescuer's trap.
Kingsley was finally safe. Suzette rushed him to the veterinary clinic. He was doing well, despite having survived on his own outside for nearly a month. Kingsley is now resting in his foster home and is eagerly waiting to join his forever family.
