Dog cries outside house every night: rescuers heartbroken when they hear why (video)

A dog named Angel was wandering the streets of Gardena, a city near Los Angeles, California, in the USA.

He would lie on a patch of pavement in front of a house and cry at night.

Nima Nasseri is an animal rescuer in the area.

A traumatised dog

When Nima went to meet the poor abandoned Husky, he knew he had to do everything in his power to help him. So, along with his team, he approached the dog, trying to gain his trust. Sadly, the dog was so scared that he wouldn't let anyone near him. The rescuers learned that the dog's family had been taken away by ICE agents, the US immigration police.

Heartbroken after learning the dog's story, the rescuers couldn't give up. They came back every day to earn his trust. One day, they spotted Angel sitting on the kerb with another stray dog. When the other dog approached the rescuers for a fuss, they hoped Angel would realise that the humans were there to help. But sadly, it didn't work. The Husky was still just as frightened.

Making progress

The rescuers had to make the difficult decision to rescue Angel's friend and come back for Angel later. They returned and set humane traps with tempting food, and this time, it worked. The two doggy friends were reunited at the vet's. The rescuers from Stacy Hope Rescue agreed to take the dogs in, and then the organisation Redemption Tails offered to look after Angel to teach him how to trust again.

On the first day, the rescuers had to carry him because the dog was too scared to walk. On the second day, he took a few small steps, and by the third day, he was starting to wag his tail while sniffing his new dog friends! The rescuers are hopeful for his future and are now looking for Angel's forever family.
