If you're a fan of The Simpsons, you'll probably find that a cat called Odie bears a striking resemblance to Snowball.
On the community site Reddit, Peter, known as "apmee", shared a post-operative photo of his 14-year-old pet. Suffering from bone cancer, the poor moggy underwent a "bilateral rostral mandibulectomy", which means the front half of his lower jaw was removed.

Fortunately, Odie's illness was localised. The cat was able to have surgery quickly in an attempt to save his life.
The elderly cat defied all expectations by recovering very quickly from his operation. Even though the cat has changed in appearance, he still melts his owners' hearts. "He pulls funny faces but he's still a handsome boy."
Reddit users expressed their support for Odie. "Ohhhh poor baby! He's got someone to love him, no matter what he looks like."
