The kitten was ten days old and needed round-the-clock care.
Sadly, the shelter was short on resources. When Jamie saw the video, she knew she had to do something to help. She immediately arranged transport to bring the little kitten to her home.
A tiny kitten
When the kitten arrived, Jamie quickly discovered that it was actually a female, and she wasn't ten days old at all. The shelter had got a bit confused. Jamie noticed that the little kitten had all her teeth, which meant she was actually nearly five weeks old!
The kitten was severely malnourished and dehydrated. She was the size of a one-week-old kitten, but had a fighting spirit. Jamie gave her fluids and helped her eat, as the little cat couldn't manage on her own.
A real fighter
As soon as the little cat regained her strength, she stood up on her tiny paws and announced her presence with a loud, determined meow. Jamie named her Wednesday, after the television series character.
Jamie fed her small amounts every three hours, day and night. After ten days of round-the-clock care and many sleepless nights, Wednesday began to feel better. She gained weight and grew stronger. Towards the end of her second week in foster care, Wednesday ate her first mouthful of food all by herself!
New life
For her small size, Wednesday is truly powerful and fearless. At nearly eleven weeks old, the little cat was ready to be adopted. She had no idea that her future family was just a stone's throw from her foster home...
A loving family living just a few streets away fell head over heels for the kitten. Wednesday will soon be joining a wonderful family of six people, including three dogs and a cat. She'll never be short of love and attention. We're thrilled for her and wish her all the best!
