In the desert, the climate is dry and temperatures can reach 91°F, even during the coolest months of autumn.
On 4th October, someone spotted two dogs in the desert.
A real danger
As he approached, he found that the dogs were tied to an overturned bicycle, with no food or water. The man couldn't believe it. The poor pups were tied up in full sun and nobody knew how long they'd been left there.
The passer-by called the police for help. Two sheriff's deputies drove to the scene. When they arrived, they were equally stunned to see the cruel conditions in which the pups had been abandoned.
Winning their trust
The pups were a bit wary of humans and barked at the officers when they arrived. The rescuers were very patient and let the dogs calm down for a few minutes. They tossed them some treats, hoping to win their trust.
Once the dogs had relaxed, the officers carefully freed them using a rescue pole. They untied them from the bicycle and placed them in their rescue vehicle. Finally, the pups were able to leave the desert safe and sound. The officers took the dogs to a local rescue, where they were fed and rehydrated. Safe at last, the pups now have a second chance at life and a brighter future ahead.
