He told them he was panicking because his wife had gone out to walk their dog in the evening and hadn't returned.
Usually, their dog Eeyore's evening walk takes about 10 or 15 minutes, but it had been nearly an hour and she still wasn't back.
Reported missing
The police officer asked for information about the dog's appearance to help locate him. She then set off to search for the 86-year-old woman. After just a few yards, a dog approached her near the patrol car. It was Eeyore!
The dog led the officer to a specific spot... Right to his owner, who had fallen a few yards away. She had tripped on the pavement and couldn't get back up.
A brave little dog
The conversation between the woman and the officer revealed that the dog actually belongs to her son - she's just the dog's grandmother. Eeyore successfully completed his loyal mission to save her: "He wouldn't leave, he kept coming back to me. Oh my heart, what a good dog! I'm not even his owner, I'm his grandmother."
In the caption of the video posted on Facebook, the police wrote: "Sometimes heroes have four legs and wagging tails". The sheriff's office praised the dog's instinct, highlighting that his devotion had saved the woman's life. What a relief!
