The poor Husky was on a euthanasia list.
Yet he'd only spent a few weeks at this shelter.
A heartbreaking reason
The reason was that the dog had kennel cough... What's more, the shelter housing him was overcrowded. Fortunately, Kennel Eviction Rescue in Southern California quickly stepped in to save him. Now the adorable Husky is resting with a foster family. He's enjoying the warmth of his new home and the love of his humans.
In a video filmed on 28th August, we can see the dog full of gratitude for his new environment, and particularly his dog bed. We can watch the pooch gently lying down against his bed and affectionately rubbing against the cushion. The caption tenderly reads: "*Welcome to your new life, Orion. You're safe with us.*"
Happiness lies ahead
Orion is still available for adoption. However, the dog will meet a family in the first week of October and the rescuers are keeping their fingers crossed that everything goes well. He's a dog who gets on perfectly well with humans, dogs and cats. He's very good at adapting to any dog and simply enjoys spending time with them.
The shelter estimates his age at 6 or 7 years. Viewers were very moved and fell under the dog's spell: "*Yes that's really how a Husky sleeps on the bed.*" And also: "*This sweet angel just wants to rest.*" We hope Orion finds his forever home as soon as possible!
