A small white dog had been abandoned by the person who was supposed to be looking after him.
The poor dog was waiting all alone on a pile of rubbish under a market stall table.
Little hope
His fur blended in with the pile of rubbish he was lying on, making him difficult to spot. People walked right past him without noticing... until Prue, a rescuer from the Mission Paws’ible shelter, came along.
Once the dog, later named Stanley, locked eyes with his rescuer, he knew instantly that she was there to save him. It was love at first sight. Sadly, Stanley was in a sorry state: his fur was matted, he was in pain, and his blood tests were worrying.
A wonderful recovery
Fortunately, with time and the right treatment at the clinic, Stanley began to get better. Prue was delighted and looked for a foster family for him. Stanley went to live with Scarlett, and it was only meant to be a temporary arrangement... But the second Stanley met Scarlett, it was love at first sight all over again.
The little dog was a real "shadow" to his foster mum: he would sleep curled up next to her and never left her side. He turned out to be a very energetic and funny dog. Scarlett's family quickly realised that Stanley wasn't going anywhere... He was now part of their family, and they adopted him for life. What a wonderful rescue!
