Owner Kayla Kleine explained on TikTok that the bear wandered in through an open patio door earlier this month, sniffed around the living room, and even tucked into Scout’s food.
But before the intruder could settle in, Scout charged in from another room, barking furiously until the startled bear bolted.

Home security footage captured the extraordinary encounter on 4 August. In the clip, the bear lumbers inside and begins exploring before the feisty Pomeranian rushes in, growling and nipping at its heels.
The bear quickly retreats, leaving the tiny dog triumphant.
Cuddly, feisty and protective
Kleine described Scout as “super cuddly” but also “really feisty and protective.” She admitted she will be keeping the doors firmly shut from now on, but couldn’t help feeling proud of her little guard dog.
She later revealed that the bear and its mother had already visited the property several times, once even breaking down the garden fence.
Online viewers were quick to hail Scout a hero, with one commenting: “He’s been training his whole life for this moment.”
