Former Love Island winner Jack Fincham has successfully appealed a six-week jail term for dangerous dog offences.

In September 2022, Fincham's Cane Corso Elvis bit a runner in Kent, and in June 2024, he attacked a woman in Essex.

Fincham admitted two counts of being in charge of a dangerously out-of-control dog and was sentenced in January at Southend Magistrates' Court. He immediately lodged an appeal.

Prison sentence overturned

At Basildon Crown Court, Fincham's prison sentence was overturned, but the court added a three-month extension to an unrelated suspended sentence for a 2023 driving offence. The original sentence was linked to drug driving and the fraudulent use of a registration mark.

Judge Samantha Leigh stated that activating the suspended sentence was "unjust" and imposed an extension, raising the period to 21 months.

Strict conditions

Fincham, who won the ITV reality show in 2018, had already been fined £3,680 and ordered to pay compensation to the victim.

He has since resumed a normal job and returned to boxing, with his solicitor confirming he was adhering to conditions, including keeping the dog muzzled and on a lead at all times.
