For his first eight months, Golden Retriever Dug lived in a small flat in Texas. His only brief escapes were limited to walks on the lead or visits to their parents, where he could finally let off steam on the lawn.
These moments of freedom eventually convinced the couple that it was time to find a home with proper outdoor space. After weeks of searching, they moved into a house with a garden, eager to see their four-legged friend's reaction.
A moment of wonder
On moving day, Dug cautiously explored his new surroundings. Then, as soon as he spotted the lawn, he suddenly started running at full speed, racing back and forth with a huge grin.
His owners shared the adorable scene to TikTok, in a clip that has already been viewed over 150,000 times.
A dream come true
For Alexa and Austin, giving Dug this garden was the key to his happiness. They wanted him to enjoy life to the fullest, beyond his daily walks. Their dog's joy that day confirmed they had made the right choice.
These days, the Golden Retriever spends hours running, playing and watching over his garden.
