Senior shelter dog Peanut arrived at Humane Society of Broward County when she was 7-years-old.
Staff were hopeful she would soon find a home- but months later, she was still waiting.
The sweetest girl
Peanut was transferred to the shelter from another centre, so nobody knows much about her history or past experiences.
What they do know, is that she's the sweetest girl, who adores the company of people of all ages.
“Despite it all, she’s remained silly, sweet, and full of love,” the shelter wrote on Facebook.
Stuffies for everyone
Comforted by her toy collection, Peanut carries a stuffie with her wherever she goes. On walks, to see the vet, or simply just moving around her kennel, she always has one proudly on show.
The team have done all they can to give her a variety to choose from - whether it's her favourite green crocodile or a much-loved giant hamburger. “She starts out her days by carrying her stuffie out with her while she goes on her potty break,” explained a staff member, sharing a clip of her patiently waiting by her kennel door.
Many months after she first arrived, the video caught the eye of a very special person, who knew Peanut was the dog she needed.
On her adoption day, Staff gifted Peanut a special stuffie for the road!
