At the event, Michele learned that Honey had been found abandoned on the streets of Mexico City.
The dog was extremely anaemic and needed treatment to regain her strength.
A unique bond
The day Michele met Honey, a very strong bond formed between them instantly. The dog approached Michele, who was sitting on the floor, and immediately rested her head against her heart.
Since then, adopting Honey has been the best thing to happen in Michele's life. The two are absolutely inseparable, and Honey's presence helps her owner a great deal in moving forward with her life.
Speaking another language
In early June 2026, Honey and Michele were out for a walk when they passed a group of people speaking Spanish. Honey became very responsive when she heard them. She immediately wanted to go over and greet them, which is something she never usually does.
Very intrigued by her dog's behaviour, Michele decided to test something when she got home. She asked Honey to sit and lie down in Spanish, and Honey understood immediately. The dog responded to all of her owner's commands in Spanish, and the conclusion was clear: she understands Spanish perfectly!
Since then, Michele has been trying to speak to her in Spanish as much as possible, especially when she gets home and praises her for being such a "good girl", as you can see in the video below. Honey seems delighted to hear Spanish being spoken at home again!
