Fourteen-year-old Goodwin and one-year-old Louie transformed their family home into the set of their very own “Dogue” magazine shoot.
It was complete with custom kerchiefs, Elizabethan collars and even platinum-blonde wigs.
Canine stars
Carpenter herself was away, leaving her parents to witness first-hand just how demanding a full day in the spotlight can be. “They were like, ‘This was a really long day for the dogs. I don’t know how you do it!’” she joked later.
Goodwin, a mixed-breed affectionately nicknamed “Badwin” when he misbehaves, has been with Carpenter since her early acting days. Louie, a lively Cavapoo, has quickly adjusted to the family’s busy lifestyle, joining Carpenter on tour and charming everyone he meets.
Loving dogs
Both dogs, she says, are “genuinely loving and adoring”, with Goodwin embodying old-soul wisdom while Louie brings boundless puppy energy. If their personalities were ever brought to screen, Carpenter imagines Jeff Bridges voicing Goodwin and Tom Holland voicing Louie.
For Carpenter, the pups are more than pets; they’re loyal companions who have grown alongside her career, proving that fame isn’t always about humans.
