That person is Linda Rose: a kind-hearted woman whom the adorable dog never goes a day without seeing.
Emmy and Linda Rose became friends in early 2024 when they became neighbours.
Love at first sight
From their very first meeting, Emmy's dad, Russell Fenton, knew that Linda Rose would be a precious friend to his Labrador Retriever. But he didn't expect Emmy to become "obsessed" with her presence. Indeed, Emmy has been visiting Linda Rose every single day since January 2024!
Each day, Emmy is greeted with joyful cries from Linda Rose and an invitation to come in. But sometimes, Linda Rose doesn't hear the dog, and Emmy has no way to alert her to her presence. When she finds herself at her best friend's door and finds it closed, Emmy is devastated.
An ingenious solution
Linda Rose didn't like the idea of missing a visit from Emmy. So she decided to replace her doorbell with a more dog-friendly model. This way, she always knows when her best canine friend comes to see her!
Since then, Emmy has the same ritual: she runs through the house, crosses the garden, then Linda Rose's garden, and heads to her front door. She presses her nose against a nose-height doorbell until Linda Rose opens up.
A proper ritual
In the video below, you can see Emmy waiting patiently on the porch for minutes, her nose pushing the doorbell repeatedly and her front paws in dog booties to prevent her from scratching the door.
As soon as the door opens and she sees Linda Rose's face, Emmy's tail wags frantically and she runs inside, absolutely delighted, whilst her dad waits outside. An absolutely adorable scene to watch!
