Gwyneth Paltrow opens up about 'tough year' after losing two beloved dogs

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed she is struggling after the loss of her two beloved dogs, Nero and Daffodil.

During a Q&A session on Instagram Stories recently, the 52-year-old Oscar-winning actress shared that her family recently said goodbye to their Maltese dog, Daffodil, who passed away last week.

Their German Shepherd, Nero, died in November.

Tough year

Responding to a fan’s question about coping with pet loss, Paltrow admitted, “It’s been a tough year on the dog front.” She described Daffodil as a cherished companion of 15 years and acknowledged the deep sadness of losing both pets in such a short time.

Paltrow offered words of comfort, saying, “Like any other loss, you just have to honour them, love them, and keep them alive in your mind.” She also shared that her remaining dog, Gaucho, has become “very overprotective” in the wake of the losses.

Heartache of pet loss

Over the years, Paltrow has frequently posted photos of her dogs, celebrating their presence in her life.

Fans have since flooded social media with messages of support, acknowledging the heartache of losing a pet.

RIP, Daffodil and Nero.
