The Ferrari driver had been due to run Pirelli’s prototype tyres at Italy’s Mugello circuit on Friday, but his place will instead be taken by reserve driver Zhou Guanyu.
Hamilton explained to fans that Roscoe, 12, had been diagnosed with pneumonia and placed under sedation for further checks when his heart suddenly stopped.
In a coma
Writing on Instagram alongside sharing photos from Roscoe’s bedside, the seven-time world champion revealed: “They managed to get a heartbeat back and now he’s in a coma. We don’t know whether he will wake from this. Tomorrow we’ll try to wake him up. I’m by his side and want to thank you all for your prayers and support.”
Formula 1 canine star
