Patch was surrendered to the RSPCA's Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford and District Branch when his owners realised they could no longer afford his treatment.
The Boxer had an allergy to dust mites and birch pollen, which had resulted in the loss of all his fur.
373 days in rescue
The team spent six months trying to solve Patch's balding and sore skin, determined to offer him a second chance at happiness.
They desperately hoped someone would appreciate his adorable qualities, coming forward to offer him a home.
Over a year later, Patch was still waiting.
Happiness at last
When Simon Mullins spotted Patch on social media, he knew he wanted to help.
He visited the centre multiple times, getting to know Patch and checking with the staff he would be able to care for him properly.
Then, 373 days after he arrived in rescue, Simon brought Patch home.
"No home is dust free and I was worried about how a home environment would be for him- but so far so good", he told The BBC.
"His skin is so soft now, it feels like a baby's skin. I do want him to grow more fur, but secretly I love my naked pooch just the way he is".
Patch now has his own social media page to help raise awareness about his condition. And he will spend the rest of his days surrounded by the love and warmth of a family.
