The Queen officially opened a new Emergency Department at Great Western Hospital this week, meeting a number of patients and the dedicated staff who care for them.
Among the team was Fenton, a grey Poodle who regularly visits patients being cared for at the hospital, offering comfort or encouraging physical exercise.
A heartbreaking loss
The encounter came just months after the heartbreaking loss of The Queen's beloved Jack Russell Terrier Beth, who died in November aged 13.
She was diagnosed with an inoperable tumour, having been adopted by Camilla from Battersea Dog's Home in 2011.
A passionate animal lover, The Queen has been patron of Battersea since 2016, when she succeeded Queen Elizabeth II.
"The star of the show"
Crouching down to greet the therapy dog, Queen Camilla was overheard praising Fenton for his work.
"You are the star of the show", she told him. "I am sure you make a lot of people feel better".
The Queen commented on the dog's "smart haircut", as Fenton greeted her enthusiastically.
Wearing a bow tie to mark the occasion, the therapy dog seemed thrilled with the interaction.
