On Sunday, 8 December 2024, Abdel Boudjemaa and another investigator from the Espoir PA, an animal welfare association, responded to a report of animal neglect.
A small Bichon or Poodle-type dog was said to be left permanently outdoors in a garden, day and night, with no shelter from the elements. The report prompted the association to dispatch its team to investigate.
Wandering the streets
Upon arriving in Drancy, the investigators were shocked to find the little dog wandering the street, left entirely to fend for itself.
The animal was evidently enduring harsh and precarious living conditions. Law enforcement was called to assist and ensure the rescue operation was completed safely.
Thanks to the intervention of the police and the breaches observed at the scene, the dog was safely removed and taken to safety.
A daily challenge for animal rescuers
For Abdel Boudjemaa, this rescue marks a success, but it is just one of many reports he handles daily.
He continues to appeal for temporary foster families, whose support enables him and his team to carry out these vital missions effectively.
