Debra Curtis, who shares moments of her English Bulldog Harry on TikTok, became suspicious when her partner hadn't returned from taking Harry for a walk.
Surprise discovery
She decided to investigate, which led her to discover what her husband had really been up to.
To Debra's surprise, she found her husband and Harry lounging in their car, taking a nap instead of being out on their walk.
Unbeknown to her husband and Harry, Debra captured the heartwarming scene on video, which quickly went viral with over 300,000 views. The footage shows Harry and his owner snoozing peacefully in the front of the car.
Bulldog walk
TikTok users had plenty to say. One commenter humorously defended the napping duo: "They did walk to the car, so that counts." Another person was clearly charmed by Harry's sleeping face, while a third playfully suggested the nap was Harry's idea.
Harry's behaviour isn't unusual for bulldogs, who often require more rest than other breeds. Older dogs and larger breeds like bulldogs are known to need extra sleep, aligning their rest with periods of activity. Besides, as a couple of viewers jokingly suggested, this is the “official English Bulldog walk.”
But despite the cuteness of the nap, it's important to remember that regular walks are essential for a dog's health. Bulldogs, like all dogs, should exercise at least once a day to stay fit.
