Generally, when a puppy has large paws, it’s a fairly reliable indicator of its adult size. Big paws as a puppy often mean a large size as an adult.
This is exactly what the family of TikTok user @nattyjo884 hoped for when they adopted their German Shepherd puppy. These dogs typically measure between 56 and 66 cm in height and weigh between 22 and 40 kg.
An unexpected discovery
From the moment they adopted the pup, everyone assumed it would grow quickly, given the impressive size of its paws. However, as the months passed, the puppy didn’t grow as expected.
It turned out that the dog was a cross between a German Shepherd and a Corgi, taking after the Corgi side in terms of size.
A mini German Shepherd
In a TikTok video posted on 7 June, the puppy's owners explained that their dog hadn’t grown in four months, remaining a "pocket German Shepherd". Fortunately, the little furball quickly found its place in the household, despite its unexpected size.
A pocket-sized dog with big paws, this family's pooch defied all predictions. It’s an important reminder that when you adopt a puppy, you can never be entirely sure what it will grow up to become.
