A heartless owner was caught on CCTV abandoning two dogs outside an RSPCA animal hospital.

No matter how bad things get for pet owners, there's no excuse for dumping dogs in the street. No excuse whatsoever. But it's happened again.

This time, a man tied two Lurchers to a bike stand outside an RSPCA building in Salford, Greater Manchester, and then walked away. Staff from the RSPCA  rescued the dogs when it became clear that their owner wasn't coming back for them.

So cruel

And it gets even worse. Vets found that one of the dogs had traces of milk around her teat, meaning she'd recently given birth to a pup. They believe this cruel person used the dog for breeding and then dumped her like trash.

The RSPCA is extremely concerned about the welfare of the puppies and has launched an appeal to trace the owner. RSPCA inspector Beth Fazackerley is in charge of the case. She said, "There's a litter of puppies out there who will have been separated from their mum at a very early age."

"We don't know whether they're receiving the appropriate care they need at this vitally important time, if they're ill, or what may have happened to them."

The second dog had scarring across her body and face, suggesting she'd been physically abused. Her microchip details revealed that she's a six-year-old called Xena. She was registered to an address in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. RSPCA officials are trying to locate the original owner.

Get your dog microchipped NOW!

If your dog isn't microchipped, getting it done should be job number one. A microchip drastically improves the chances of bringing a missing or runaway dog home.

Both dogs are staying at a private kennel that works with the RSPCA to rehome abandoned pets. Despite all the terrible things that have happened to them, the dogs still have loving and sweet temperaments. If nobody claims them, the RSPCA will look to place them in new homes with people who deserve to have dogs like this.
