Two-month-old Spocky is absolutely adorable. With his fluffy coat and ice-blue eyes, he looks like a living teddy bear.
But Hannover Animal Shelter in Germany has an important warning for prospective adopters: Don't be fooled by his charming appearance! This combination is anything but harmless.
Still a baby – but with a big personality
Spocky's parents are a Chow Chow and an Olde English Bulldog – both breeds known for their independence, stubbornness and strong will. "They won't be pushed around and if you just pamper them, the dog takes control", warns the rescue.
What sounds cute on paper is actually a demanding package in reality. Both Chow Chows and Olde English Bulldogs need consistent, experienced owners.
Spocky "is not a dog for beginners" the shelter explains. Even though he might seem rather unsure at first, don't let that fool you. Still a baby, Spocky is not house-trained, cannot be left alone and he knows no basic commands. But the little rascal has the potential to become a loyal companion – provided he has enough training, patience and commitment from his family.
A soulmate for experts
Spocky needs an experienced family, who will take the time to love and understand him properly.
In the right home, the staff feel certain he will make the most wonderful companion!
