Losing a pet is heartbreaking and, sadly, something that all owners must face at some time. Unfortunately for Ralph, it came much sooner than expected. Or so he thought.
When Cognac went missing, Ralph’s world collapsed. The pup was Ralph’s first-ever dog, and the two shared a close bond.
Missing Cognac
Ralph scoured the neighbourhood for several days, hoping to find his canine companion.
Sadly, after a few days of intensive searching, Ralph discovered Cognac lying on the side of the road after being hit by a car. The dog’s injuries were severe, and he soon passed away. Understandably, Ralph’s heart was broken. He took Cognac to a local cremation facility, where his beloved dog was cremated.
Unexpected happy ending
But then, just a few days after Cognac’s cremation, Ralph received a surprise call from an animal shelter. They told him that his dog Cognac had been found.
Ralph was stunned. It seems he’d cremated a completely different dog that happened to look like Cognac. While he was mourning the loss of what he thought was his dog, the real Cognac was found by shelter staff, who had discovered his identity after scanning his microchip.
Ralph immediately headed to the shelter to see whether the dog was Cognac. But as soon as the dog saw him and ran over to him, Ralph could have no doubts.
