Puppies might be incredibly playful, but they are also very curious too. So when this German Shepherd puppy was introduced to a litter of kittens, he couldn't wait to investigate.
Puppy meets kittens
The video starts with the puppy entering the bedroom with a green toy octopus in its mouth. He soon drops the toy when he spots a cat lying on the bed with her kittens. The pup is instantly curious.
The mother cat watches as the dog puts his paws on the bed so he can lean in to get a closer look. He then hops down and goes around to the side of the bed, where he leans in again, and, this time, he can get closer, accidentally batting the cat's back leg with his paw. At that, his owner intervenes, giving the dog a few calming strokes.
The dog's owner lifts the pup onto the bed, and he begins sniffing the feline family. The cat gives him a couple of warning meows which seem to signal to the dog that he needs to take extra care.
Puppy uncle
The cat then rolls onto her side, looking at the puppy as if reassuring him that it's ok. The dog and cat sniff each other's faces and even exchange a couple of licks.
It's impossible to know what the puppy makes of the tiny balls of fur on the bed. Still, he seems to understand they are delicate and returns to grooming the mother cat, who seems to appreciate the attention until the puppy gets too eager.
The puppy eventually settles down next to the feline family, not taking his eyes off the kittens, looking very much like he's happy to take on the role of their protector.
