Usually it’s dogs who rescue humans in the snow. But back in 2019, the roles were reversed when a tiny helpless dog was spotted in the mountains of Inverness.

In March 2019, a Coastguard helicopter was flying over the mountains of Inverness when, suddenly, the crew spotted something on the edge of a cliff.

They soon realised that it was a dog who had been reported missing for the past 48 hours.

The poor pooch was in a dire position – not only was it snowing and freezing, but the dog was also sitting right on the edge of a 200-foot drop.

After quickly picking up their Winchmen, the helicopter returned to the dog’s position. One very brave rescuer was lowered all the way down to the dog, picked him up, and was pulled back up.

The dog was quickly brought to a nearby vet clinic for emergency treatment. Thankfully, he fully recovered and was soon reunited with his owners. Thanks to the courage of the rescue team, this dog was very lucky!
