We could all learn a few things from Dexter. Because no matter what the world throws at him, Dexter thinks his food bowl is always half full.
And fate has definitely tested this pup's optimistic outlook on life. Four years ago, a collision with a van left Dexter in a bad way, and vets had no choice but to remove one of his front legs.
Dexter decides to run again
Dexter's recovery was slow. He was forced to wear the dreaded cone of shame for over a year, but he never stopped smiling or looking for cuddles from his humans. Even his slightly weird-looking hop-walk couldn't prevent him from enjoying days at the dog park!
But Dexter wanted more from life, and he often dreamed of running around the park again. And so determined, Dexter did the obvious thing. He taught himself how to walk on his hind legs, just like his dog-mum Kentee Pasek.
Dexter quickly mastered the art of walking on two legs, and his antics turned him into a bit of a local celebrity. He's appeared on several local news channels and has always got time for a selfie when he meets one of his fans on the street.
Dogs like Dexter make the world a better place
Like any dog, Dexter loves the extra attention. But what he loves most is the chance to run free alongside his favourite humans again. In fact, they sometimes struggle to keep up with him!
Dexter doesn't care about the things he lacks. Instead, he makes the most of what he has. So let's all try to be more like Dexter. It would make the world a much happier place.
