Lemon the Chihuahua was found as a stray and swiftly brought to the shelter due to her terrible physical condition.
The strongest will to live
Poor Lemon only weighed 2.5 pounds, and was so weak that she couldn't even stand. Rescue staff were worried that she might not make it, but did everything in their power to make sure she did.
Indeed, while most of Lemon's body seemed to be failing, there was one thing about her that worked unfailingly: her tail. It wagged constantly in the presence of humans. It was clear Lemon wanted to live, and hoped for a future in a loving forever home.
An incredible transformation
Lemon was placed in a foster family where she lived alongside an adorable rescue Pitbull who taught her the ins and outs of being a family pet. She received much-needed medication and physical therapy every day.
Within a month in her foster family, Lemon had made incredible progress. She had reached a reasonable weight, her once infected eyes cleared up, and she even started to walk by herself!
Soon after, she found the perfect family - one who could look past her special needs and love her for exactly who she was. Well done, Lemon!
