No one knows why the dog was left there. But people in the area saw a homeless man tie him up in front of the store at around noon.
But as time passed, the homeless man did not return to get the animal. And the temperature was rising fast.
In grave danger of heatstroke
People started to worry. They gathered around the dog, brought him into the shade and gave him water. Apart from having a dry nose, the dog seemed to be in good health. What’s more, he was very friendly. Miriam, who was at the scene, told Wamiz:
“As soon as I crouched down, he went mad with contentment. He kept licking my hands and wanted to play.”
The concerned crowd that gathered contacted various animal charities, but all of them were full and reluctant to help. Ultimately, their only option was to call the police. When they arrived, they checked for a microchip, with no luck. They had to take the dog to the pound.
A new start for Turbo
Everyone was distraught at the thought of the beautiful Beagle cross ending up in the pound. But a charity named Asociacion Por Patas heard about his plight and did everything they could to get him out of there.
We are pleased to inform you that Turbo, as he has been named, is now in the care of a competent charity that will look after him until he finds a loving, caring forever home.
