The beloved dog is getting older now, and his owner was inspired to dedicate a poem to him on TikTok.
A lifetime of memories
The poem is set to a montage of images of the Golden Retriever, who has been by his owners' side through all of life's biggest milestones.
Marshall was there for his owners' wedding and then through his mum's pregnancies. Of course, he was also there to welcome his new human siblings and has joined in with all their playtime!
”You saw me through the baby blues / My worry and my doubts / You walked with me on that first walk as the sun came out.”
Marshall also watched his puppy brother grow up into an adult Golden Retriever, becoming the perfect companion for the very best naps.
A reflection on family
The sweet dog has brought his family so much joy throughout his life. They know Marshall is an old boy now, and that saying goodbye to their 'first baby' will be heartbreaking.
This moving poem comes with a beautiful reflection on the place our dogs hold in the family:
