From the time he was a puppy until adulthood, the Belgian Shepherd mix lived outdoors, tethered and lonely, his sole purpose to protect his owner’s property.
But after years of neglect, Merlin could endure it no longer. He pulled and strained at his chain until, at last, he managed to break free.
Weak, hungry and frightened
He was eventually found wandering the streets, weak, hungry and frightened. The heavy chain he had dragged with him had cut so deeply into his neck that it had become embedded in his skin.
Rescuers took Merlin into their shelter, where he was treated for his wounds and showered with kindness. Despite his suffering, he proved to be gentle, affectionate and eager to trust people again.
Only one wish
Now fully recovered, Merlin has just one wish: to finally find the loving forever family he has been searching for.
